Mixed by David. Get ready for a shock–this isn't your normal DR fare. The steady stream of carbon copy 'deep house' releases have me bored to tears. This is a mix of techno and Detroit, served with a side of left-field. Tracks from Sami Koivikko, Kenneth Graham, Claude Young and more....

Whether it is house or techno (or rockabilly...), a set like this keeps me relaxed and positive for hours and days. The "label" of what it is means nothing really. I have a feeling the followers of DR trust your judgement! Love the techy feeling... Love it. LOVE IT!

Augggghhhh!!!!!!!!! Something I desperately needed from the drab rhoder chords house music that was pretending to be deep. The Immersion song is deep enough for two months alone. But did you really have to kill me with the back to back Akufen tracks? I am knee deep in it that I can't get out until 2004. "Late nite muchies" sounds like a Todd Edwards rebirth, only better! "The unexpected Guest" is perfect for October.
I'm gettin so deep with this mix that you can call me dirt diggler! Bring on the Dirty, Deep, Dark.........Pappa has something for ya!

In most cases, the term 'white label' is used to describe a vinyl ep with a blank sleeve & blank label (usually the label has hand written writing on it, catalog number, track title etc.). It is usually a promo copy or a test pressing. In this case, David has that kind of 12" - no clue who the artist is or what the track title is - hence "white label". Here's a pic to underline what I mean:

I just want to say that wow, the mixes on this site are incredible! Such awesome mixing and great tracks. I'm downloading several of your mixes for a party this weekend that requires music which isn't too hard hitting, is dancy, yet at the same time conducive to conversation, but damn good, all in one.

the selection of the tracks is really good, but i don't like their order of appearance. what i like is this turn of DR into more deep techno. let it flow.
by the way this white label track is called "echap" and can be found on the "our rules ep" of "silvertone vs rile", released in 2002 by aphrodogz records.

Yes, it's definitely faster and somehow fresh (surely not due to velocity
. But as always it's a DR sound that moves (experimental, jazzy, electro, soul, even tech... enclosed into a deep mood). I welcome a tech-house approach and putting aside booooring mostly-techno-songs (Sub-Kroniq, Macintosh) this is highly-powered / DR-ly tastefull mix. Akufen's "Late Night munchies" is a kind of state-of-the-art song.
Hence I hope it doesn't represent a change in DR philosophy (fantastic underground deep house music).
Timo & David keep going with an excelent job!

Dave's been a DR regular since June 2002
He started with mix #25 which we did back to back during his Finland visit and we've been altenating with posting mixes ever since.
Check out his other mixes here, look for the "Mixed by David" tag in the mix descriptions.

i know that David is a resident dj of DR. but what i meant was that the mixes sounded all the same after a while. when i said where has he beenso far i meant why did it take so long to refresh the taste of this site. (which is excellent) no probs whit those mixes. i can't even mix music. i'm only a consumer. but as i read the comments on this mix i couldn't help realise that the ppl wanted this change too. no hard feelings at all. i have all the mixes on cd in my car. i don't listen to commercial radio stations. i'm glad that David put this mix on for us and can't wait 'till the next comes out. i've been looking out for the new mixes for a quiet while but the last 3 months i was overseas and couldn't get to d/l this new one. when i finally got it it was a huge surprise. with my previous comment i was only trying to express how glad i was to hear something i'm really into. didn't mean to hurt anybody. if i did so i apologise for that.

This one lacks the overall soul for me honey. Just missin the biscuits and gravy. Just not feelin all the mechanical sounds, and BPMs are sped up too fast for my listening choice.

OK, so thanks to u David I learnt of the s.hitkatapult label. The Sami Koivikko tracks are unbelieveably smart adn the mix combines the important elements: deep, unpredictable, melodic yet minimal. More of the same, PLEASE!!! This mix and the Denial mix are your best so far I think.... Are you coming by Stockholm anytime soon?
