DJ biography: Kris Verex

Kris started life as a DJ in 1993 and had his first official gig at a local venue with 500 people in
an assembly hanger. He was by now playing a variety of private parties during 1994 and 1995.
During this time he also started with his first guest-appearences at local non-commercial
radiostations in the south of Germany. In 1995 Kris entered the local club scene with the help and
introduction of Basti Schwarz (a part of Tiefschwarz), at that time resident of the highly
acquainted Red Dog Club in Stuttgart, where many famous artists like Tony Humphries, Larry
Heard, Masters at Work, Frankie Feliciano, Mike Dunn et al. had been guests over the years.
His first residency came in 1996 at the club ‘Radio Bar’ for approximately 2 years. Throughout
1997 and 1998, he also played regularly at venues like ‘Pauls Boutique’, had several gigs at ‘M1-
The Club’, the ‘Marlboro Breakfast Club’ as local support as well as the ‘Depot Club’ in
Tubingen. During this time, Kris started with his first own weekly radio show live on air at the
non-commercial radio station SF 97,5FM. From 1997 to 2000 every Thursday night, 9 p.m. until
midnight CET, was the live broadcast of ‘Houseaffaires’ on air. Nearly all local Deejays and
Residents of the metropolitan area of Stuttgart had been guests at Kris’ radio show.
